Isomerase is an innovative, growing biotechnology company based at Chesterford Research Park near Cambridge, UK. It was founded in 2012 and has particular expertise in synthetic biology, bioengineering and the discovery and development of the next generation of microbial natural products, proteins and peptides for use in areas such as medicine, agritech or sustainable alternatives to existing petroleum based products.

We are looking for excellent candidates able to work in a multidisciplinary team generating technologies and solving problems on the chemistry/biology interface.

As a key member of the team, you will play an important role in developing the next generation of microbially-derived products.

Research Associates/Research Scientists

You should possess, or will soon receive, a relevant science degree, and have a thorough understanding of molecular/synthetic biology techniques. Practical experience of molecular biology, microbiology and fermentation as part of those studies is essential. An understanding and previous experience with microbial strain engineering and/or protein expression would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high aptitude for learning and assimilating new skills and concepts. The successful candidate(s) will possess excellent numeracy and IT skills. You will be capable of communicating your ideas and reporting your data and results with other scientists and will be an enthusiastic team member.
