isomerase map

Isomerase is a synthetic biology company and innovation partner helping partners to use microbes to make anything from therapeutics to enzymes, agricultural and consumer products; sustainably, cost effectively and at scale.

Isomerase leverages its decades of experience working with bacteria and fungi, combined with its knowledge, capabilities and innovations in biology, chemistry and process development, to enable partners to progress their products and processes toward commercialisation.

Isomerase was founded as a synthetic biology company to support partners in 2012 and aims to support partners with all aspects of microbial product and process discovery and development, including leading-edge synthetic biology, advanced strain improvement of microorganisms, genome sequence analysis, protein and peptide expression and isolation, fermentation and process development, DSP, compound isolation, analytical development and synthetic chemistry. In addition, Isomerase manages other aspects necessary for a commercially successful programme on behalf of partners, such as compound management and shipping and scaled manufacture.

We offer these capabilities from our modern, well-equipped laboratory near Cambridge, UK. Our projects are underpinned by a portfolio of technology IP, and the combined experience of a core technical and leadership team with a substantive track record of successful product discovery and development collaborations with pharma, biotech and chemicals companies.

We have supported numerous companies with a wide variety of microbial product fermentation and synthetic chemistry projects, helping advance early-stage concepts into valuable development programmes, and then continuing to support their progress to market with process improvement and scaled manufacture.

As a leading synthetic biology company, we offer our services in a flexible collaborative model to partners seeking more than just a CRO.newnham blg overhead
